Terms of Use
Last updated 21 August 2026These terms govern your use of studyielts.com and everything available through it — practice tests, AI-generated band estimates, courses, live classes, study materials, and test booking. Please read them before using the site.
By using studyielts.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Not affiliated with the IELTS test providers
StudyIELTS is an independent preparation service. IELTS® is a registered trademark of the University of Cambridge, the British Council, and IDP Education Australia. We are not endorsed by, approved by, or affiliated with any of them, and we have no authority to issue official IELTS results.
“IELTS Online” is the name of the official computer-based IELTS test and has no connection to this website.
Nothing on this site should be taken as an official IELTS product, syllabus, or score.
2. Practice scores are estimates, not results
This is the most important thing to understand about our service.
Band scores, feedback, and reports generated on this site are estimates produced for study purposes. Some are generated automatically by software; some are given by instructors. Either way:
- they are not official IELTS scores and have no standing with any test provider, university, employer, or immigration authority;
- they may differ — sometimes substantially — from the result you receive on a real examination; and
- they must not be presented to anyone as evidence of your English proficiency.
Practice with us to prepare and to track your progress. Do not treat an estimate as a prediction or a guarantee of your eventual result.
3. Eligibility and your account
To create an account you must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
When you register, you agree to give accurate information and to keep it current. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, and for keeping your password secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
You may sign in using a third-party provider such as Google or Facebook. If you do, you are also bound by that provider’s terms, and you authorise us to receive basic profile information from them as described in our Privacy Policy.
Accounts are personal. Do not share your login, sell access, or let anyone else use your account.
4. What we provide
We aim to make available:
- practice and mock examinations, with automated scoring and feedback;
- a library of study materials and reference content;
- live classes and webinars, delivered on a schedule we publish;
- on-demand and cohort-based courses; and
- a facility to register for official examinations through third-party booking providers.
We may add, change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the service at any time. Some features are free; others require payment. Where a class or course has limited places, we allocate them as described at the point of booking.
Schedules, instructors, and content may change. Where a live class is cancelled by us, we will offer a recording, an alternative session, or a refund of any amount paid for it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, republish, resell, or redistribute our tests, courses, or materials, in whole or in part;
- record, screenshot, or share live class content without permission;
- use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content;
- attempt to bypass paywalls, access restrictions, or security measures;
- interfere with the operation of the site, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it;
- upload anything unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringing;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation;
- manipulate ratings, reviews, referrals, or wallet credit, including by creating multiple accounts; or
- use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms other learners or instructors.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules, and remove content that does.
6. Purchases, credit, and refunds
Payment
Prices are shown at the point of purchase. Payment is taken through third-party payment providers, and your purchase is also subject to their terms. We do not store your full card details.
You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or bank charges that apply to your purchase.
Wallet credit
Your account may hold wallet credit, which can be applied against purchases on the site.
Wallet credit is a store credit, not money. It cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cash, or transferred to another person or account. It has no value outside studyielts.com. If your account is closed, any remaining credit is forfeited.
Referral credit
Where we operate a referral scheme, both the referring and referred account may receive wallet credit on the terms published at the time.
Referral credit is granted at our discretion. We may withhold or reverse it — and suspend the accounts involved — where we believe the scheme has been abused, including through self-referral, duplicate accounts, or false details.
Refunds
Where a course or class is sold with a stated refund or trial period, that applies. Otherwise, digital content and completed services are generally non-refundable once accessed.
If something goes wrong, contact us. We will deal with refund requests reasonably and in line with any consumer rights you have.
Test booking
Where you register for an official examination through our site, the booking contract is between you and the examination provider. Their rules govern rescheduling, cancellation, fees, identification requirements, and results. We are not responsible for their decisions, availability, or fees.
7. Intellectual property
All content on the site — including tests, questions, courses, recordings, text, graphics, logos, and software — is owned by StudyIELTS or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the content for your own study. That licence ends if you stop using the service or breach these terms.
You may not use our name, logo, or branding without written permission.
8. Content you submit
You keep ownership of what you submit — essays, recordings, forum posts, reviews, and questions.
By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and process it as needed to operate the service, score your work, and provide you with feedback.
You confirm that what you submit is yours to share and does not infringe anyone else’s rights. We may remove content that breaches these terms, and we are not obliged to store or return submitted work.
9. Third-party services and links
The site links to and integrates with services we do not control — payment providers, video platforms, social sign-in providers, booking providers, and partner institutions.
We are not responsible for their content, availability, practices, or terms. Your dealings with them are between you and them.
10. Availability
We aim to keep the site available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Access may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, technical problems, or reasons outside our control.
We are not liable for interruptions, and we recommend you do not leave important preparation to the last available moment before an examination.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and representations not expressly set out in these terms — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
In particular, we do not warrant that:
- practice scores will match or predict official examination results;
- content is free of errors or omissions; or
- using the service will produce any particular outcome, including a place at an institution, a visa, or a job.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StudyIELTS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, opportunity, data, or goodwill, however arising.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims connected with the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or the amount permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify StudyIELTS against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time — see our Data Deletion Instructions.
We may suspend or close your account, with or without notice, if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your use of the service harms other users or the service itself.
On termination, your licence to use the content ends. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity — continue to apply.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and give more prominent notice where the changes are significant.
Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
16. General
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
If we do not enforce a right immediately, that is not a waiver of it.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and StudyIELTS regarding the service.
