You can ask us to delete your StudyIELTS account and the personal information associated with it at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and what we are required to keep.

How to request deletion

Email us at privacy@studyielts.com, or use the contact form on our site.

Send the request from the email address on the account, and include:

• the email address or username on the account,
• a short note confirming you want the account and its data deleted, and
• if you signed in with Google or Facebook and no longer have access to that account, tell us which provider you used and the name on your StudyIELTS profile so we can locate it.

We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the request. This protects you — it stops someone else deleting your account and your study history.

We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, and confirm by email when it is done.

If you signed in with Facebook or Google

Removing the StudyIELTS app from your Facebook or Google account stops us receiving any further information from them, but it does not delete the account and data already held on our side.

To delete your StudyIELTS data, send us the request described above.

To also disconnect the app at the provider:

• Facebook — Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → find StudyIELTS → Remove.
• Google — myaccount.google.com/permissions → find StudyIELTS → Remove access.

What gets deleted

• Your account, login credentials, and profile details — name, email, phone number, country, timezone, date of birth, gender, and target scores.
• Your profile photo and any social sign-in connection.
• Your practice test attempts, answers, scores, and band estimates.
• Your course enrolments and progress.
• Your favourites, saved filters, and ratings you have left.
• Your referral code and any connection to accounts you referred.
• Your marketing preferences, and your email address is removed from our mailing lists.
• Support correspondence, unless it relates to an unresolved matter.

What we keep, and why

A small amount of information has to survive account deletion:

• Transaction and invoice records — where we are required to retain them for accounting, tax, and audit purposes. These are kept for the period required and are not used for any other purpose.
• Records needed to resolve an open dispute, refund, or chargeback, until that matter is closed.
• Information we are legally required to retain, or that we need to keep to prevent fraud and abuse — for example, a record that a particular account was closed for breaching our terms.
• Anonymised and aggregated data, which no longer identifies you and cannot be linked back to you. This may be retained indefinitely for statistics and service improvement.

Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle. Your data may persist in encrypted backups for a short period after deletion, but it is not restored to live systems and is removed as those backups expire.

What deletion means for you

Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Before you request it, please note:

• Your study history goes. Test attempts, band estimates, and progress cannot be recovered afterwards.
• Wallet credit is forfeited. Remaining credit is a store credit, has no cash value, and is cancelled when the account closes. Spend it first if you want the benefit of it.
• Referral credit stops. Any pending referral rewards are cancelled.
• Course access ends, including courses you have paid for. Deleting your account is not a refund request — if you want a refund, contact us about that first.
• Booked live classes are cancelled, and enrolled seats are released.

If you only want to stop hearing from us, you do not need to delete your account. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or turn off marketing in your profile settings.

Download your data first

If you want a copy of your information before it is deleted, email privacy@studyielts.com and ask for a data export. We will provide it in a commonly used, machine-readable format, normally within 30 days.

We recommend requesting the export and confirming you have received it before submitting a deletion request.
