Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day traces its roots back to the Roman festival of Lupercalia, which was celebrated in mid-February to welcome the arrival of spring. In the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day, and since the 14th century, it has been observed as a day of romance.

Today, Valentine’s Day is recognized as a romantic holiday in numerous countries worldwide. In honor of this special occasion, we would like to share some advanced vocabulary that can assist you in discussing love and relationships.

Please note that most of these expressions are idiomatic and relatively informal, so avoid using them in your Academic Writing. However, incorporating them into your Speaking Test or an IELTS GT Informal Letter can impress the examiner and enhance your score for Lexical Resource.
