What occurs during the initial 5-minute face-to-face interview of the IELTS Speaking Test?
The Speaking Test is the briefest of the four tests, which can often leave you feeling as though you don’t have enough time to prepare or generate ideas. To help you better understand and prepare, let’s break down the structure of the first 5 minutes.
Introduction: To begin, the examiner will request your name and ask you to present your passport as identification.
Part 1 – Set 1: After introducing yourself, the examiner will pose 3-5 questions on a specific topic, which could include work, studies, home, family, or interests.
Part 1 – Set 2+3: Following that, you will be asked 3-5 questions on two additional everyday topics, such as studies or clothes, and then some unusual topics like robots or flowers.
