In the IELTS Speaking exam, there are three sections, and part 1 involves introductory questions. During this section, the examiner records your responses, so it is essential to answer carefully, especially the introductory questions. Personal interest questions are also asked, and it is essential to elaborate on your answers with reasons to showcase fluency and coherence.
Questions:
1. May I know your full name, please?
My name is Rupinder Kaur, but you can call me Roop.
2. May I know which place you are from?
I am from Bathinda, one of the major cities in Punjab.
3. Where do you live, in a house or an apartment?
I live in a house that is spacious enough to accommodate a joint family. It consists of three floors, and my entire family, including my uncle and aunt, resides here. Additionally, we have a car parking space and a beautiful garden within our home.
4. What do you like about your house?
The aspect I adore most about my house is the garden. It is a captivating feature right at the entrance, filled with vibrant flowers of various colors, such as red, yellow, and purple. I often find solace walking barefoot on the lush green grass in the garden, particularly during mornings and sometimes evenings. It provides me with a profound sense of tranquility and peace of mind, which I cherish greatly.
5. What would you like to change in your house?
While I truly love my house, if I were to suggest an improvement, it would be to change the backyard. Over the years, it has accumulated a considerable amount of waste material and rubbish. If the area is cleared up and maintained well, it could be transformed into a beautiful space with the addition of a few benches for sitting, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and leisure.
6. What is your favorite room in your house?
As a creative individual since my childhood, my favorite room is the one where I keep all my drawings and paintings. Whenever I find some free time, I retreat to this room and immerse myself in painting on canvas. Sometimes, I simply come in here to gaze at my past artworks, which not only rejuvenates me but also refreshes my mind for the upcoming days of routine work. It serves as a personal sanctuary of artistic expression and memories.
