Nowadays, for many people, the Internet is replacing regular books. What do you think will happen in the future and what is your opinion about this trend?

Nowadays, many individuals are turning to the Internet instead of traditional books for various purposes. Considering the continuous advancements in technology, it is anticipated that this trend will persist and further evolve, with mobile platforms becoming increasingly prevalent. While physical books may not completely disappear, their popularity is likely to diminish in comparison to digital resources.

To begin with, the Internet has significantly surpassed books as a resource for learning and information. Students nowadays rely heavily on online educational websites and attend virtual classes using platforms like Skype. For example, if a student wants to explore the topic of robotics or genetics, a quick search on Google will provide them with a wealth of relevant information. Consequently, books are often relegated to a secondary role, serving as mere references for today’s youth, who prefer the convenience of e-learning environments, video tutorials, and audio files.

Moreover, as technology continues to progress, there is expected to be a notable shift from computer-based learning to mobile applications. This transition is likely to contribute to a decline in the habit of reading physical books, though not entirely. The widespread popularity of mobile apps is evident, as children now carry smartphones loaded with apps catered to various educational needs. For instance, dictionary apps are commonly used both offline and online for quick word definitions.

On the whole, I am of the opinion that the Internet will continue to dominate over traditional books. However, it is important to acknowledge that there will be a shift in the devices used to access the Internet for studying, with mobile applications taking the lead over computers.
