IELTS Speaking Recent Cue Card Question:

Describe something you have always wanted to buy.

-What it is

-For how long you have wanted it

-Why do you like it

-Do you think you will buy it someday?

Sample Answer:

The thing I have always yearned to buy is a car. Since my childhood, I have dreamed of owning a car that I can drive to and from my workplace. It has been more than 20 years now since this dream began, and I am now closer to making it a reality.

There are several reasons why I am passionate about cars. Firstly, I am drawn to the style and models of different cars. I avidly read magazines and articles to learn about the latest features and designs of various car models. Secondly, having a car would grant me the freedom and independence to drive myself without relying on a chauffeur or waiting in long queues for public transport. Now, as I am financially capable and have a stable job, I feel confident that I can fulfill this dream of purchasing a car. I am planning to buy a splendid royal car next month, making my childhood dream finally come true.
